The Mercedes 290GD/24 scout-car was delivered to the Territorial Army on April 6th 2002. A prototype was shown and accepted in November 2001. The vehicle features a 2.9 liter turbo charged engine and automatic transmission. A total of 28 vehicles was delivered.
This type have not been adopted by the regular army.
